It's why we tend to share with only a small group of people.
But we need to share, because it brings healing.
And hope.
And takes our friendships to a whole new level.

When we fully embrace our newness in Christ, when we grab ahold of the truth that we are new creations, it changes the way we see ourselves. And our sin.
We are new.
We don't have to claim those old feelings, mindsets, and struggles as part of our identity anymore.

There is depth in holding our tongues.
In a world that values noise and opinions and debate over who is right, being quiet is rare.
And wise.

Every word we speak has a consequence.
Every frustration we vent has a kickback.
Every time we complain about work, talk about that friend behind their back and share our opinions regardless of how they will be perceived, we set ourselves up for retribution.
Just ask those who lost their job for something they posted on Facebook.

God calls. Debt stops.
And we find ourselves as servants to money instead of God.
We may still love God. We may still follow Him. We may still call Him Lord and try to live our lives following His path.
But when we find ourselves burdened with debt, that debt becomes our master.
And you can only serve one Master.

When we begin to see debt for what it is, when we realize that it steals from our future, robs our children and places shackles around our wrists and ankles, it changes the way we choose to live our lives.
