Friday was one of those days.
You know, those days when nothing goes according to plan, everything breaks down, and you’re left standing in the ashes wondering what just happened.
Yea…one of those days.
My car overheated when I was halfway to work (read 30 miles away from home).
I wasn’t able to make it home without a stop at Walmart to let the car cool down and buy more coolant.
I got home only to discover the internet was still out — which meant no logging in and working from home.
The repair on the car cost $270 (on top of the $150 from the day before).
The internet didn’t come back steady until late — making me work late on a Friday night.
And the car repairs went straight on my credit card.
It was one of those days.
I felt defeated, beat up, and at the end of my rope.
Between the car repairs, the hot water heater breaking down a few months ago, and the government-run flood insurance required on my mortgage demanding I get a $650 elevation certificate to keep my rates from quadrupling (read go from $450 a year to over $2,000 a year), I accrued over $2,000 of debt.
In a month.
It’s enough to make a grown man cry.
Not that I did.
(Ok, maybe a little.)
It’s been one of those months.
But in the midst of it all, God’s been whispering a promise in the back of my head:
Don’t worry. I will take care of it all.
Sometimes, we need to have one of those days to see God move.
The car has to break down, the water heater has to break, the government has to demand a bogus certificate costing $650, the credit card balance has to grow ever larger — all so God can show up and show off.
Difficult seasons aren’t a sign of God’s absence.
They are simply God’s way of setting you up for a miracle.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for mine.
Question: Where are you waiting on God for a miracle?
