It’s Okay to Fail

In case no one has ever given you the permission:

It’s okay to fail.

It’s okay to try something new and have it fall flat on it’s face.
It’s okay to start that new business and have it go belly up.
It’s okay to approach that girl or guy and have them say no.
It’s okay to try your hand at leading and have it fall apart.

Failing isn’t the end of the world.

Oh, failing will be hard. You will feel about an inch tall. You may have to work on restoring relationships, trust, and reputation.

But that’s okay.

[Tweet “It’s better to try and fail than never try at all.”]

Think about that for a minute. It’s okay to fail. Because in the failing, we learn a lot.

We learn what didn’t work, and get closer to what does work.
We learn how not to lead, and get closer to the best ways to lead.
We learn what not to do, and get closer to what to do.

But most importantly, we learn our true motivations and who we really are — and have the opportunity to grow.

So I say go for it.

Start the new business, take the new opportunity, do something you’ve wanted to do but been too afraid to do.

You might fail.
You might succeed.

But even if you do fail, you’re one step closer to discovering the path of success.

It’s okay to fail.
Your dream depends on it.

Question: How would your life be different if you weren’t afraid to fail?
