My name is Jason Vana and I am the President of Ignite Student Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth, young adults and university students to impact their world for Christ.
I am a passionate follower of Christ and strive to make Him known in everything I do.
I also run my own Marketing Consultant business, focusing on Branding and Graphic Design work for businesses, organizations, churches and individuals.
I am a self-proclaimed geek. I spend way too much time on my computer, reading books, writing, playing with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. I love marketing and social media, fancy myself a hiker, and find myself watching TV shows like Smallville, LOST, Chuck and Psych.
This is my personal blog. It is focused on igniting the next generation for Christ. I believe that if we are going to reach the world for Christ, we have to empower youth, young adults and university students to pursue God and make a difference in the world around them.
I typically write about living our faith, youth and college ministry, church, culture, leadership, and, on occasion, marketing and social media.
I write here three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I also write a devotion-type post every Tuesday on the Ignite Student Ministries Blog, titled Deeper, and on Thursdays I write on my Marketing blog.
My hope is that the ideas, thoughts, devotions, training items and other resources will encourage you, empower you and ignite you with a passion for God and to make a difference in the lives of others for Christ.

Biography
I’m a self-proclaimed geek. I spend way too much time on my computer, reading books, writing, playing with Photoshop and Indesign. I love marketing and social media, fancy myself a graphic designer, and find myself watching TV shows like Smallville, LOST, Chuck and Psych.
I went to Monmouth College, where I graduated in 2002 with a degree in Business Administration, English Literature and Public Communications. I also received personalized ministry training from the church I was attending at the time.
After graduating, I moved to Monmouth and pioneered a dynamic ministry at my alma mater called Covenant Groups, focusing on helping students build deeper relationships with God and each other. During this time, I went on my first mission trip to Europe…and fell in love. I’ve been back every year since – bringing mission teams, providing leadership training and igniting young people to see God come and transform their nation.
In 2010, I merged Covenant Groups with another campus ministry to form Ignite Student Ministries, a recognized non-profit that exists to ignite the next generation of leaders to impact the world for Christ. I serve as President and Visionary Leader, providing leadership training, developing resources, planning mission trips, and planting ministry groups around the world.
I’m not quite sure how it will all end up, but one thing I know – I will see God move across the youth, university students and young adults around the world.
