A Sacred Moment

Jason VanaJason Vana

sacredmoment

God’s timing is always perfect.

Even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Even when the circumstances scream that He’s late.
Even when the need has come and gone and everything seems hopeless.
Even when the bill is due.
Even when the promise hasn’t come yet.
Even when the exact opposite of what you’re praying for happens.

God’s timing is always perfect.

He’s never late in delivering on His word.
But He’s rarely early.

And that’s frustrating.
Especially when we have to wait.

Can I just be honest and say what we’re all thinking?

WAITING SUCKS

I hate waiting. And it’s probably safe to say, you do too.

Yet, God makes us wait.
And for good reason.

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
Habbakuk 2:3

I love God’s use of language in His response to Habakkuk’s complaints on His timing.

The word translated above as appointed is the Hebrew word מוֹעֵד (mow’ed) and means an appointed place, appointed time, meeting, appointed sign or signal.

There are two other definitions that give beauty to the wait: A sacred season and tent of meeting.

It’s the same word used in the book of Exodus to refer to the tent Moses set up outside the camp where any Israelite could go to meet with God. The tent reference in Exodus 33:11 where Moses would go every morning to talk to God face to face, as one talks to a friend.

The tent of meeting was a place to encounter God at a new and very intimate level.

It was an appointed time and an appointed place.
Just like the answer to the prayer you’ve been praying.

God reserves the answer to our prayers for an appointed time – so He can craft a sacred moment in our lives. Tweet this

A moment where we will not only encounter a new aspect of who He is, but also look back on for years to come.

The answer to your prayer becomes holy ground, constantly reminding you of God’s character and faithfulness. Tweet this

And that is worth waiting for.

Don’t give up on the promise God has made in your life. He is crafting a sacred moment in your life where you will encounter a new aspect of who He is.

How has God revealed a new aspect of Himself during or after a season of waiting? Leave a comment below.
